The museum is pleased to once again participate in Blue Star Museums—offering free admission to military personnel and their families from May 27 to August 31.

Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, these museums offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families.

The program aims to provide families an opportunity to enjoy the nation’s heritage and learn more about their new communities after a military move.

If you’re in the military, we look forward to seeing you at the museum soon! If you’re not in the military, please let your family and friends in the military know about this opportunity.

Above is a photograph from 2001, when we were one of a handful of museums across the country chosen to be a kick-off venue. Blue Star Families invited military families on O‘ahu to the event, which included a tour with our docent Karlyn Pearl.
