Registration for summer session at the Academy Art Center at Linekona starts April 15. In the past, summer time focused on kids, but this year also sees a ramped up schedule for adults. The 10-week session starts May 9. Some popular classes that will fill quickly: Life Drawing with Chuck Davis ($200), Screen Printing with Alan Konishi ($185), Anything Indigo with Darius Homayounpour ($80, $20 supply fee). And of course the children’s schedule is chockablock with choices. “Children” is a relative term—the Art Center serves kindergartners to high school seniors. There are four new classes for high school students: Creative Jewelry, Jewelry Making: Express Yourself in Metal, Introduction to Screen Printing and Fashion Conceptual Design (taught by Punahou School instructor Anthony Lee).
The registration form will be posted online on April 15. Until then, check out the schedule to see what you’d like to sign up for. Still have questions? Call 532-8741.
PS: Like the great new design of the Academy Center class brochure? It’s by Academy staffer Alan Konishi.

I’m looking for a drawing/painting workshop in June that would span 3-5 days—I checked the Academy website but I don’t see anything that works for me. I’m coming in from LA and will be staying in Kailua.
Just wondering if anyone out there knows of anything?
Mahalo for any info,
Lisa
