Members of the museum’s operations maintenance team know the museum in an intimate way that no other staffers do. They are familiar with every nook and cranny of the buildings—inside and out. They have a lot of face time with the artwork. We asked Danilo Urbano, who is part of this dedicated team, to talk to us about his favorite work of art from the museum’s collection:
I like Pénélope. All my family are in the Philippines and sometimes I think I’m like her, thinking and waiting. What is going to happen? She looks like she has something to relate or to tell people. It’s like she’s alive—she’s the one who greets people and invites them to look around—maybe you’ll find something good, or different.
