Now airing every Tuesday on PBS Hawaii through June 12 is Civilizations, a new epic series on art history. Presented by Simon Schama, the series continues on April 24 with a focus on the human body in art. Called How Do We Look?, the episode goes from giant Olmec heads in Mexico to Chinese tomb soldiers to contemporary sculptor Anthony Gormley in his London Studio. It repeats on Thursday, April 26, at 2am.
Did you know the museum has an entire gallery devoted to this very topic? After you see this episode, experience the art in real life in our Antiquity and the Body Gallery—where you can see Roman sculpture rubbing shoulders with a Modigliani nude (pictured above).

The museum is a proud local sponsor of Civilizations.
