From a bronze sculpture of Pénélope, to an Indian clay relief of Rama and Sita, to a wooden Native American raven rattle, art has a lot to say and teach us about the world around us.

On this tour, part of our program of 20 guided school tours, students learn how to “read” works of art from our permanent collection and make connections between art and literature.  Through careful observation, sketching, lively discussion, poetry writing and reading, students explore how artists interpret literature.

This tour is designed for grades 3 through 6.

We offer the tour year round. So summer school teachers—make a reservation today!  Tour registration for Fall 2014 starts on July 1, 2014.
