This year the museum mounted 30 exhibitions and installations, and that’s not counting the rotations in the permanent collection galleries and community exhibitions put on by our community partners in the Honolulu Museum of Art School gallery. More than 20,000 students of all grades visited the museum for free school tours. Educators—including parents who home school—from across the island checked out works from our Lending Collection of more than 13,000 objects for free. Students from low-income communities had more than 13,000 visits to museum programs for hands-on art making sessions, some of which emphasize science and math.
The Honolulu Museum of Art relies on your generosity to provide its world-class exhibitions and programs for art lovers of all ages. So as you contemplate your charitable giving during this holiday time, please keep the museum and its impactful, wide-reaching work in mind.
