Since 2002, New York-based artist Maria Yoon has been married 45 times. It is part of her project “Maria the Korean Bride,” a response to family expectations of her marrying. She’s been criss-crossing the country getting hitched to an Alaskan dog musher and a Diana Ross impersonator in Nevada. Her goal is to have nuptials in all 50 states. (That’s her exchanging vows with Jack Rosener in Barrington, RI.)
On June 30 she ties the knot with SPAM at Magic Island. Be a part of performance art history—it happens 6 to 7pm. Preceded by a reception and slide presentation at The Manifest May 30, 4 to 5:30pm, thrown by Trisha Lagaso Goldberg.
