The Honolulu Museum of Art remains committed to the health and safety of everyone in our community. We have been closely monitoring COVID-19 updates and public health recommendations statewide and globally. In light of our responsibility to our community, we have made the decision to close the entire museum temporarily as of Tuesday, March 17. This closure includes the HoMA School, the HoMA Café, the HoMA Shop, and Doris Duke Theatre. We will remain closed until at least March 31, and will continue to monitor the situation on a day-to-day basis. The museum will reopen as soon as we are confident that health risks have been eliminated.
As a public institution, we take our responsibilities to our guests and community seriously, and are doing everything we can to help curtail the effects of this outbreak. We will continue to assess health risks and provide community updates, and look forward to welcoming all of you back to the museum once we have reopened.
