Summer school teachers can take their students on a fun field trip that will have kids learning to draw like the masters. The museum’s Let’s Sketch guided school tour allows students to try out different drawing techniques used by artists to develop their work. This also provides insight into an artist’s intentions; as one Stevenson Middle school teacher noted: “The ‘Let’s Sketch’ tour enabled the students to use their eyes to observe more than just looking at the artwork. It gave them a stepping stone as how to view other artwork and think about the artist intentions.” Students explore five to six works of art from the museum collection by drawing in a specially designed tour sketchbook that they may take home. Everyone can be a successful artist using these exercises!

This tour is designed for grades 4 to 12.
