Educators, we are pleased to introduce you to Justin Davies—the museum’s Curriculum Specialist and Teacher Liaison. You may already know him—he was previously the Art School Outreach Manager, focusing on professional development for DOE teachers and arts-integration programming at schools across the state.
Justin has 12 years of experience as an elementary and middle school teacher in Hawai‘i and Colorado and earned an MS in Education from the City College of New York. He is also an active artist with work in the permanent collection of the Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts.
In this new position, he looks forward to continuing to work with teachers and to refine and promote school tours that are active, engaging, and memorable encounters with the museum’s collection. Justin can be reached at gro.muesumululonohnull@seivadj.
I would like to schedule a school tour for my college-age class for the “Ne Plus Ultra” exhibit. In the past, I have been able to schedule wonderful docent tours for my university classes at the museum, so I hope to continue doing so.
We meet from 11:30-12:30PM Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, so would a Wednesday or Friday tour at this time, or anywhere in the time frame from 11:30-1:20PM be feasible? I’m am looking at the week of April 2nd.
cheers,
Dr. Allison Paynter
