Vintage dresses were out in force at the sixth Starlight Ball—ARTafterDARK‘s annual fundraiser gala for the Academy’s Art to Go outreach program. The theme was When Cool Was King and high rollers had their own party-within-a-party—their tables were in Central Court, which was surrounded by gossamer curtains, and were served a three-course dinner by Chef Mavro. There was also a live auction, featuring work by kids who participate in Art to Go. The first two works went for $150 and $125. Then Prada area manager Joseph Incao stood up and said “This is for the kids. If you think arts education is important…” The next work went for $550. JOE’S THE MAN OF THE HOUR, HE’S GOT THE ART POWER. The Academy thanks Prada and all the Frankie Table buyers with all its heart. Your contribution to Art to Go will help kids from Nanakuli to Palolo.
