The earth has revolved around the sun slightly more than 90 times since the museum opened its doors in April 1927. Since that day, the museum has seen millions of people walk through its doors, and take its classes. It’s hard to overstate the significance of the collective impact HoMA has had on people’s lives.

With that in mind, this year we sat down with members of the community and asked them, “How has HoMA impacted your life?” for the video series #HoMAturns90, which you can see on Facebook and YouTube. In the latest installment, artist and former Art School instructor Peter Shepard Cole described how HoMA shaped his career, and how HoMA compares to major institutions like The Met.

Stay tuned for our next installment with Hawai‘i State Representative Della Au Bellati, arriving on Facebook and YouTube August 8.
