“It’s never too early to think about Mother’s Day.” That’s what you said months ago, and now it’s time to make your deep thoughts a reality. From brunch to statement gifts, we’ve got you covered. (You’re welcome, again.)

Bunches of brunches
Both museum locations have special Mother’s Day brunch menus. At the Honolulu Museum of Art Café, which is normally closed on Sundays, chef Jacob Silver is serving an à la carte menu that includes sweet bread French toast and a bacon-and-Swiss cheese omelette filled with Ewa sweet onion fondue (pictured above). See the full menu.

Want to add a little more altitude to your Mother’s Day brunch? At Spalding House Café, chef Susan Lai Hipp has prepared a $30 prix-fixe menu that features baked egg Florentine with red-pepper Hollandaise sauce. See the full menu.

Reservations are a must for either brunch. Here are the numbers to make a reservation today:

Museum Café: 808-532-8734
Spalding House Café: 808-237-5225

Artful gifts
Brunches are great, but you’ll want to give mom something that will last a little bit longer. The Museum Shop has gorgeous items that will do just that! *queue infomercial music*

More of a last-minute type? We understand. For all of you procrastinators out there the shop is doing something special. But wait! There’s more! The first 40 people at the Museum Shop to spend more than $25 will receive a luminous Robin Lehman lead crystal paperweight! At Spalding House, the first 20 people who drop $25 or more in the Spalding House Shop will receive the paperweight. Happy Mother’s Day indeed!
