For the third year, the Academy Art Center at Linekona holds the Art Center Studio Benefit Sale. Artists who use the ceramics and metal studios donate beautiful objects they have made to raise money for the upkeep and improvement of the two facilities.

You never know what you’ll find—two years ago the sale included ceramic works by internationally known Karatsu potter Takashi Nakazato, and there will be a few pieces by him this year as well. The sale will also feature works by Steven Glass (he did the pitcher pictured above), the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts‘ resident potter. And of course there will be items by noted local artists as well. New this year are glass and basketry creations.

The handcrafted pieces pictured are just a few of the alluring objets you’ll find at this year’s sale, which is located on the second floor—above the World Art Bazaar. (Image by Alban Cooper.)
